The mission of Ecdysis is to provide a platform for creative expression in scientific subjects and phenomena, with the purpose of encouraging dialogue between the humanities and the sciences.
In a sense, Ecdysis represents an extension of Harvard College’s liberal arts education model. Whether students come from a scientific, literary or artistic background, we hope they will see this publication as an opportunity to pursue unique interests that may lie outside of traditional academic settings and professional aspirations.
Ultimately, we aim to create a niche in the fertile interface between art and science, where art promotes knowledge of the natural world and science uncovers new aesthetic experiences.
